Stop I.T.
(Stop Invisible Taxes)

Welcome

STOP "I.T."  is committed to improving the lives of citizens of the greater Louisville area. Through outreach and advocacy, we can make a difference!

We regularly meet with legislators, attend hearings, and support candidates that support a vision of hope. We have been successful in advocating for improvements in our community so we can build a better world for our children.

Stop “ I.T. ” is a not-for-profit group of business people that is seeking relief from hidden taxes imposed by agencies that do not have direct constitutional authority to levy taxes nor responsibilities to do so. These agencies are stacked with appointees who do not answer directly to those on whom they impose mandatory  “fees”, thus having the same effect as a TAX.  These appointees answer only to the person who appointed them. In the case of Louisville, that person is the Mayor.

Stop “ I.T. ” is comprised of experienced and knowledgeable leaders who (in most cases) have been actively engaged over several years in regular interaction with a variety of governmental and quasi-governmental agencies, boards, and commissions, and have developed beneficial contacts and relationships with many governmental employees who are sympathetic to the plight of the ordinary citizen-taxpayer. The much-hated VET program was disbanded as a direct result of the efforts of such a group of citizens who had had enough of that wasteful and largely ineffective program.

Our volunteer base is growing daily as citizens have found a voice and renewed sense of hope. You too can make a difference. Sign up for our newsletter, or call to volunteer.

Stop “ IT “ is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the change of TAX and related legislation and statutes
through the education of taxpayers and citizens of KENTUCKY.

Mission
The mission of  Stop “ I.T. ” is to gather data and information from those citizen-taxpayers who are burdened by these “invisible taxes” and assemble this data in a form that can be used to enact statutory and legislative change designed to bring tax relief to and accountability for those directly affected by “invisible taxes.”

Examples of “invisible taxes” are Drainage “fees” imposed by MSD (Metropolitan Sewer District) that MUST be paid by real property owners. Failure to pay such “fees” can result in liens by MSD or prosecution.

Other “visible” taxes imposed by Mayor-appointed commissions include the “volunteer” Fire Districts, whose boards are “stacked” with 3 Mayor-appointees and only have 2 persons “elected” by the taxpayers of that district. Such boards can IMPOSE taxes without any accountability to voters.  The American Revolution occurred because of this very notion: Taxation without representation.

Stop I.T.  is dedicated to improving our community by creating an environment of hope and unity. We promise to work tirelessly to improve conditions in our community and affect positive change in the world around us.

We affirm the importance of working together to find solutions.

Stop I.T.  will operate lawfully and respectfully in all matters. We will not profit from our endeavors. We believe in fairness for all.
Stop I.T.  will not waiver in the conviction to create a better community for all citizens.
